Pacific Project is an annual trip for high school students that educates participants on New Zealand’s relationship with the Pacific. It combines a week at the prestigious UN Youth Australia National Conference with an educational study tour to Vanuatu.
In Vanuatu you’ll be visiting the New Zealand High Commission, as well as a range of NGOs that contribute to development, trade, innovation and combating climate change in the Pacific.
This will be a once in a lifetime trip for the participants, especially given the push that our current government is making to strengthen our ties with our Pacific neighbours. The application page can be found here: https://unyouth.org.nz/event/pacific-project.
UN Youth New Zealand is a non-profit organisation that provides civics education outside the traditional classroom context. They engage secondary and tertiary students in the most pressing affairs of their country and international community. They are a registered charity run entirely by youth volunteers with no paid staff. The volunteers devote hours to educating young New Zealanders as they bring together valuable experiences in education, communications, logistics and youth development. You can read more about them here: https://unyouth.org.nz/about
Applications for Pacific Project 2019 close on Sunday 10th of March.
